We have been a family-owned resort since 1922!

Who We Are

Kee-Nee-Moo-Sha Resort was named in the 1920’s after a wise and beautiful Native American Indian maiden, and means “Sweetheart of the Maples” in Ojibwa.

We are unique among resorts because:

  • We have been a family-owned resort since 1922!
  • Our cabins are individually owned and rented to other families when the owners are not vacationing here themselves.  Most owners have had the cabins in their family for generations, and lovingly maintain, upgrade and build new cabins for themselves and their guests.
  • Spacious grounds – over 100 acres of private forested land on a large peninsula, with open grounds and well-spaced cabins
  • Great selection of accommodations - from traditional knotty pine cabins, new vacation homes and rare, historic family log lodges – with nice amenities (decks, grills, kids activities, etc.)
  • Substantial lakeshore – over a half-mile on Woman Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in the state
  • On a major lake chain with 6,000 acres of water and 10 miles of boating
  • Featured in National Geographic Magazine and Time at the Lake:  A Minnesota Album
  • Excellent and versatile fishing and the only Minnesota Lake to be featured in Dick Sternberg’s Fishing Natural Lakes
